Invisalign orthodontic foils are the most sophisticated and best alternative solution for teeth correction for those who are not attracted to the thought of classic metal braces. With the help of a series of transparent alignments that fit precisely along the dentition, it is possible to make the teeth move to the desired position and thus correct the functional or aesthetic defects of an individual patient. So, Invisalign orthodontics is a computer-guided orthodontics that starts with a digital scan of the patient's teeth, and a specially developed computer program can show us the precise design of the patient's new smile in just a few minutes. The reason Invisalign is the most popular alternative orthodontic system is that the splints are incredibly comfortable, lightweight and almost invisible. The splints are made of patented clear acrylic and most people will not even notice that you are wearing them, and one of the biggest advantages of Invisalign splints compared to classic metal braces is that the patient can remove them while eating, drinking, brushing teeth or similar.
1. Advantages of Invisalign in relation to fixed metal orthodontic appliances
1. It is almost invisible
2. Can be easily removed to maintain oral hygiene
3. There is no pain as with metal braces
4. No uncomfortable metal locks and wires that create aesthetic discomfort and often depress the patient
5. No damage to tooth enamel after removing the locks
6. Unhindered daily communication and social contact
7. Better preservation of the supporting periodontal apparatus of the tooth in relation to classical orthodontic therapy
8. The therapy lasts much shorter than the classic therapy with a metal brace
2. What do Invisalign consultations look like?
In order for a doctor to work with Invisalign technology and splints, it is necessary to complete special training and obtain a certificate from the Invisalign Institute!
When arriving for a free examination and consultation for Invisalign therapy, we first explain to patients what Invisalign therapy is. After successfully answering all the questions and concerns of the patient, we take a digital scan of the upper and lower jaw to create an individual therapy plan and estimate the required amount of alignment for complete correction of teeth and the formation of a perfect smile. With the help of a sophisticated computer program, we form the scanned data into a 3D digital model of the patient's jaw and move the teeth to optimal positions. After we are satisfied with the proposed therapy, i.e. the treatment plan, we send all the collected digital models to the Invisalign Institute where aligners are made. Employees of the Invisalign Institute once again review and analyse our digital models, and if the treatment plan is good, they give us permission to make aligners. After a few weeks from the start of production, the aligners arrive at our clinic, and we hand them over to the patient so that the therapy can officially begin.
3. Types of Invisalign therapy
The type and price of Invisalign therapy mostly depends on the degree of anomaly, i.e., the number of aligners that the patient must wear until the moment of complete correction of the teeth. Depending on the degree of the anomaly, we distinguish Invisalign Express, Invisalign Lite, Invisalign Comprehensive and Invisalign Teen therapy.
Invisalign Express therapy is a therapy for milder anomalies, small compressions, smaller gaps and relapses. This type of therapy includes up to 7 alligators per jaw, which ultimately means that this type of therapy, from the beginning to the end of the therapy, lasts up to 4 months. Invisalign Express therapy is the most affordable Invisalign therapy.
Invisalign Lite therapy is a therapy for moderately severe anomalies, mild compression, and recurrence of previous orthodontic therapies. This type of therapy includes up to 14 aligners per jaw, which ultimately means that this type of therapy, from the beginning to the end of the therapy, lasts up to 8 months. Invisalign Lite therapy is a mid-priced Invisalign therapy.
Invisalign Comprehensive therapy is a therapy for more severe and complex anomalies, i.e., for anomalies that require a larger number of aligners for complete correction of teeth. This therapy includes an unlimited number of aligners, individually for each patient, for 5 years. Certainly, Invisalign Comprehensive therapy does not last for 5 years, but the patient has the right to use an unlimited number of aligners for a period of 5 years in order to completely straighten her teeth. On average, patients undergoing this type of therapy have 30 to 40 aligners, which would mean that the average Comprehensive therapy, from start to finish, lasts 14 to 20 months. Comprehensive therapy is a true display of the quality of Invisalign orthodontic systems because, although the patient approaches therapy with severe and more complex anomalies, Comprehensive therapy still lasts shorter than conventional metal brace therapy. Invisalign Comprehensive therapy is the most expensive Invisalign therapy due to the unlimited number of aligners.
Invisalign Teen therapy is a therapy primarily intended for the age group between 11 and 16 years of age. The most common problems in this age group are problems like mixed dentition, young and permanent teeth with incomplete root growth, etc. As with Comprehensive therapy, in Teen therapy patients are also entitled to an unlimited number of aligners. On average, patients undergoing this type of therapy have 30 to 40 alligators, which would mean that the average teen therapy, from start to finish, lasts from 14 to 20 months.
