Visits of children to the dentist from the earliest age are extremely important for the prevention of dental disease, but also for instilling good oral hygiene habits, creating a positive attitude towards visits to the dentist and habits that will accompany a person throughout life.
1. When do we recommend the child's first visit to the dental office?
We recommend the child's first visit to the dental practice at the age of two so that the child, while still not having toothache and unpleasant experiences with teeth, gets to know the environment, sounds and smells of the dental practice through play. We pay special attention to the gradual adaptation of children in a way that, in accordance with their age and individual affinities, we try to make the treatment fun, and the atmosphere calm and cheerful.
2. How important is it to repair baby teeth in a timely manner?
It is very important to repair the caries of deciduous teeth and replace the lost tooth tissue with filling and keep such teeth in the mouth until the natural exchange with permanent teeth, because in this way we prevent orthodontic anomalies that are often caused by premature loss of deciduous teeth. When permanent sixes (I. molars) grow, in the presence of deep fissures (hollows in the tooth) it is necessary to make a preventive seal filling that will prevent the appearance of caries at such predilection sites.
3. How often should a child be brought in for regular check-ups?
We call our small patients for check-ups every six months, and in some cases more often. We do this so that we can react in time to the slightest caries and eliminate it before pain or greater tooth destruction occurs, and such frequent examinations allow us to control oral hygiene and point out possible omissions and motivate them to various awards, diplomas and commendations. a better attitude towards one’s own teeth.
